My father, Brian Mooney, was a pilot. He learned to fly using VFR or visual flight rules. These regulations allow a pilot to operates an aircraft in clear weather conditions to see where the aircraft is going. Later he piloted commercial planes using IFR, also known as instrument flight rules. I chose a different profession. As a photographer I use GPS, or the Global Positioning System, to help me navigate and record the position of my photographs. My flights are visual but I am on the ground recording my life with my camera while my father flew above the earth in a plane.
